Join us for the March SUV drive.  We will use all three ferries on the Willamette for this drive. Bring $5 and $1 bills for the ferries! The tour has four legs, 3 rest stops, a total of 143 miles drive distance and a drive time of about 5 hours. It’s a long tour, but very scenic, with ample of breaks! Bring a snack and a beverage, the second rest stop will be a little longer to recharge our batteries.

The tour begins in West Lynn, where we will meet at 9:00 am and meanders along the Willamette, hopping on each side with the ferries, and ends in Keizer at the Bargarten Social House Restaurant for a late lunch.

There is no cost for this event, just RSVP please! The drive opens for RSVP on Friday 3/11/22 7pm.

Leg 1:
From West Lynn to Canby Ferry to Champoeg State Park (First Rest Stop), 1 h 20 min – 22.8 miles

Leg 2:
From Champoeg State Park to the Wheatland Ferry to Maud Williamson State Recreation Site (Second Rest Stop and Snack), 1hr 11 min – 26.3 miles

Leg 3:
From Maud Williamson State Recreation Site through Bethel Heights wine country to Independence to Buena Vista County Park (Third Rest Stop), 1hr 15 min – 39.8 miles

Leg 4:
From Buena Vista County Park over the Buena Vista Ferry in an east loop around Salem to the Bavarian Biergarten Social Haus Restaurant in Keizer. (Fourth Stop and Late Lunch), 1 hr 30 min – 44.2 miles

Registration information:

• The “Release and Waiver of Liability” will be available to sign at the start of the drive.
• Registration is by car. Each driver must register their car. If you have a navigator you will register that person at the same time. If you don’t have a navigator, just mark the navigator questions as NA. Please see registration at the bottom of this page.
• Attendance is limited to 12 cars.
• No Cost, just RSVP!
• The start location and a printable PDF file of Printed Route Directions and Scenic Navigation App Access will be provided a day before the event to all registrants. Please do not share this information with anyone else. Please check your SPAM folder if you do not get an email from Heinz Holzapfel by 5:00pm the day before the event.
