SUMMARY:Oktoberfest Drive and Bavarian BBQ
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the Annual ORPCA Oktoberfest! \nA scenic drive through fall colors\, ending at Sylvia’s and Heinz’s home for Oktoberfest food and beer! The route is entirely on paved roads. Bring your favorite Porsche! \nThe first leg takes us on scenic backroads from Tualatin through Laurel Ridge\, the Chehalem Mountains\, and Buck Heaven to Yamhill for our first rest stop. The second leg continues from Yamhill to Laurelwood\, through Dilley and Forest Grove\, over to Kansas City\, and then to North Plains for a second rest stop. The third leg climbs up to Skyline in the West Hills and on to Forest Heights. The drive ends at the home of Sylvia Nessan and Heinz Holzapfel\, who will host a backyard gathering with a Bavarian Oktoberfest BBQ: pretzels\, grilled sausages\, sauerkraut\, potato salad\, and Bavarian beer. \nIf it rains\, we’ll need to fit into the garage and additional tents\, which limits space to 40 attendees. \nSign-up for the BBQ opens 9/1/26\, with 40 spots available and a waitlist for additional attendees. If the weather forecast looks fair\, waitlisted members will be notified and can purchase BBQ tickets after 9/20/26. \nReservation opens September 1\, 2026 at 7pm. \nEvent Organizer: Heinz Holzapfel \nTicket Price: $35 per person \nEvent Stats:\nNumber of Groups: 2-3 groups of 7-10 cars\,\nTotal Miles: 90 Miles\nTotal Drive Time: ~3 hours with two rest stops \nDigital Navigation Support: \nRidewithGPS: Instructions / Link to Event will be provided to attendees with Driving Directions. \nGeneral Information about this Event: \nRegistration is per person. SUMMARY:Smoked Out SUV Drive
DESCRIPTION:Our September SUV drive will be avoiding the very unfortunate situations east of the Cascades\, and instead take us into the SW Trask & Siuslaw Forests before our short crossing of the Willamette on the Wheatland Ferry\, and on to our destination town of Mt Angel. Our start location will be at Ava Roasteria in Beaverton\, for some early coffee and snacks. Final destination in Mt Angel will be selected as we get closer to the event. Please note this is considered a CAT 1 Drive as there will be about 0.5 miles on unimproved country roads between two farms to connect us back to pavement \nEvent Organizer: Jeff Gasparitsch \nEvent Stats:\nNumber of Groups: 1 or 2 groups\, up to 16 vehicles\nTotal Miles: 120\nTotal Drive Time: 3.5 hours \nDigital Navigation Support: \nRidewithGPS link will be provided to attendees with Driving Directions. \nRegistration Information:  \nRegistration is open and will close on Sept. 21 at 5:00 pm.
