SUMMARY:Along the Mighty Columbia — Scappoose to Ilwaco
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a gentle September tour following the Columbia River from Scappoose\, Oregon\, to the waterfront in Ilwaco\, Washington. \nWe’ll gather at the Fred Meyer in Scappoose before heading north on Highway 30 through Rainier and across the Lewis and Clark Bridge at Longview. Shortly after crossing into Washington\, we’ll take our first break—and invite Porsche friends from the greater Vancouver\, Kalama\, Longview\, and Chehalis areas to join the tour there. \nFrom Longview\, we’ll turn west onto Washington’s Lewis and Clark Highway (SR 4)\, following the mighty Columbia toward the Pacific. It is a lovely stretch of river\, forest\, small communities\, and sweeping views as we make our way to Ilwaco. \nLunch in Ilwaco\nRather than trying to seat the entire club at one restaurant\, we’ll finish near the Ilwaco waterfront\, where participants can break into smaller groups and explore the local pubs\, cafés\, and restaurants. Wander a little\, find something that looks good\, and enjoy lunch with old friends—or make some new ones. \nEvent Organizer: Danielle Morris \nEvent Stats:\nNumber of Groups: 3 groups of 8\nTotal Miles: 110\nTotal Drive Time: 3 hours \nDigital Navigation Support: \nRidewithGPS link will be provided to attendees with Driving Directions. \nRegistration Information: \nRegistration is open and close on September 7 at 5:00 pm. Volunteers will be needed for Leads and Sweeps. Please volunteer when you register\, if you are able and willing to accept the responsibilities. \nGeneral Information about this Event: \nRegistration is by car. Each driver must complete the data collection in the registration form. If you have a navigator\, please register that person at the same time. If you don’t have a navigator\, just mark the navigator question as N/A. \nThe start location\, time\, description of Digital Navigation Support as well a printable PDF file of Driving Directions will be provided two days before the event to all registrants. Please check your Spam folder if you do not see an email with the directions within 24 hours of the event. \nEach Participant (Driver and Navigator) is required to sign the “Release and Waiver of Liability” at the start of the drive. \nWe encourage all participants to take pictures and share the pictures either on our social media sites or upload them to our photo repository using the link provided with the driving directions. \nEvent Policies Regarding Privacy\, Photography\, Social Media and Recordings: Click Here \nQuestions:  Please contact the Drive Leader
