Announcing the 2025 NW Passage Tours!

Pre-Registration opens on Thursday, December 7, at 7pm PST

The NW Passage Committee has created another exciting  route and program! In 2025 the tour is starting at the base of Mt. Hood and is heading through eastern Oregon to eastern Washington and Idaho .

The 2025 NW Passage tour will be a five-day tour, starting at the base of Mt. Hood and heading to eastern Washington and Idaho. The route will take us on twisty backroads, over mountain passes, through the rolling hills of the Palouse, and into the Idaho mountains. There will be two tours, each with a maximum of 40 cars.

There will be an spring and a fall tour with a maximum of 40 cars each.

The key dates for the tours are:

  • Reception at Porsche Design Studio, Portland: June 10, 2025
  • Spring Tour: June 11-16, 2025
  • Fall Tour: September 10-15, 2025

Tour Overview:

  • The tour will start at The Resort at the Mountain  in Welches, OR.
  • Day 1: we drive from Welches, OR to Leavenworth, WA, where we will stay for one night.
  • Day 2: we drive through the Palouse, into Idaho to the Schweitzer Ski Resort, ID, where we stay for 2 nights.
  • Day 3: a roundtrip from the Scheitzer Ski Resort to Montana and back
  • Day 4: we drive from Schweitzer to Walla Walla, WA, where we stay for 1 night
  • Day 5: we drive from Walla Walla to Hood River, OR

Tour Price:

The 2025 NWP will be 1 day longer than the 2024 tour and includes 1 extra hosted dinner.  The price will be $1200 – $1300/car. The NW Passage Committee will finalize the ticket price by early December.

Tour Registration:

Historically, the Spring NW Passage sells out in a few hours, the Fall NW Passage in a few weeks. To ease the sign-up process, we collect pre-registrations starting December 7th, 2024. Pre-registered members will have the opportunity to purchase tickets on January 4th, 2025, one day ahead of general ticket availability. 

Pre-Registration and Ticket Availability:

  • 12/7/24 7pm: Pre-Registration opens
  • 1/4/25 7pm:  Ticket Sale for pre-registered members opens
  • 1/5/25 7pm: Ticket Sale for all members opens

 

The Pre-Registration does not guarantee a spot on the tour, but it gives early access to purchase a ticket.

All pre-registered PCA members will get an email on  Saturday, 1/4/24 7pm with a link and instructions to purchase tickets online at the ORPCA website.

Waitlist:

  • Once all 40 tickets for a tour are sold, we will open a waitlist.
  • If tickets become available due to cancellation of ticket holders, we will invite on a first on waitlist – first serve base to purchase available tickets

 

Refund Policy:

  • 100% refund until 90 days prior to tour start
  • 50% refund until 45 days prior to tour start. If we sell a replacement ticket we will refund the remaining 50%
  • No refund after 45 days prior to tour start. If we sell a replacement ticket we will refund 100%

Maintaining Momentum

Oregon Region is marching through the year at a steady pace. March turned out 11 events, which may be a record for this time of year. Even though it is still early, we have seen a couple of new events on our calendar including the new dining event, Road and Fork, and an out-of-town tech session in Tacoma. I was thrilled at the number of new faces attending the New Member Orientation. Be sure to check out stories about each of those later in this edition.
I realize now one of the key elements of having so many events on the calendar is maintaining momentum while not over- burdening our volunteers. The processes and procedures are ever- evolving, and while much of it is becoming routine, keeping all the balls in the air at once is challenging. The Drive Team and the Social Committee have been working overtime, and it shows. If you see any of the drive team or social committee members out and about, be sure give them a thumbs up and a smile – they deserve it!
This year ORPCA is celebrating 65 years and PCA is turning 70! The cars, the people, the clubs have a lot to celebrate. Back in 1955 and 1960, there were no 911s, no 914s, 944s, Boxsters, Caymans, Cayennes, Macans, Panameras or Taycans and very few variations on the models that did exist. There were a handful of regional clubs and not many members. Today there are 148 regions under the national umbrella with over 160,000 members participating in over 4,000 events every year.
In the area of Club history and how PCA and Porsche have evolved in 70 years, there are two great things every Porsche owner should check out if you haven’t already. One is the fantastic history of Porsche Club of America found on the PCA website: https://ww2.pca.org/pca- history (login to PCA.org, drop down the “Membership” tab to “PCA History” near the bottom.) This is a long read, but worth it. With nine more months of this exacting year ahead, I trust I will bump into many of you more than once and that alone makes it worthwhile. As you know, it’s not just the cars, it’s the people.
