Introduction
The Oregon Region Porsche Club of America serves members on both sides of the Columbia River across Northwest Oregon and Southwest Washington. In 2025, ORPCA celebrated its 65th Anniversary alongside PCA’s 70th, marking a milestone year of activity, growth, innovation, and community engagement. The Region’s strength lies in deliberately integrating driving, socializing, technical learning and camaraderie to create a full-spectrum member experience. Along with hosting nearly 100 events, ORPCA expanded membership, introduced new programming formats, strengthened operational systems, and deepened commitments to members and community.
- Level of Activity – Integrated Experiences
ORPCA offered 67 single-day drives in 2025, a 21% increase over 2024, with typical attendance of 24–36 cars (40–60 people) per event. Drives are now offered year-round, with a consistent cadence of Saturday Drives, Sunday Cruises, SUV Drives, and Midweek Drives. Each format is designed to serve different member needs—whether avid driving, relaxed cruising, all-weather capability, or schedule flexibility.
The Region delivered eight multi-day tours: Northwest Passage, Scenic Oregon, an all-inclusive luxury event, Snake-n-Bake (Hells Canyon), Walla Walla Wine Tour, and an event with Big Island Region in Hawaii. These tours blend exceptional roads with curated dining, lodging, and social experiences, strengthening bonds among members well beyond the driver’s seat.
Touring and day trips were bolstered by a robust Autocross program. Our Autocross team hosted eight events in 2025 involving 60+ participants per event. New and unique drive formats introduced in 2025 included longer single-day drives (250-300 mile) as well as themes such as GT Drive, Drive with Pride, Tops-Down Drive, and more ladies-only drives. New tech sessions introduced in 2025 included a member-led EV Curious Tech Session and an overnight to Tacoma for a tech session and tour at Griot’s Garage. These offerings reflect ORPCA’s commitment to personalization and variety that offer a little something for everyone.
ORPCA launched new social programs, including Road & Fork, a small-venue dining series focused on connections and culinary exploration, and F1 Viewing Parties that brought members together around shared enthusiasm for motorsport. These events create low-barrier entry points for new members and deepen relationships among long-standing members.
Member communication is driven through weekly emails, a robust website, and active social media platforms. Event registration is fully integrated, enabling members to sign up with ease via the website or directly from the weekly email or social media feeds. Feedback is solicited through surveys, and in-person conversations, creating a continuous loop of improvement and innovation.
- Membership Growth – Culture as Strategy
ORPCA achieved exceptional membership growth in 2025 through process improvement, responsiveness, and a culture of welcome.
January 2025: 1,044 members
December 2025: 1,192 members
Net growth: +148 members (a 70% improvement over 2024’s growth rate)
Key initiatives included rapid welcome outreach (average 1.4 days from joining), simplified local portal access, inclusion of Test Drive members, personalized name-badge program, and anniversary recognition. Despite a 75% ORPCA rate increase in 2024, more than 800 members renewed in 2025—demonstrating loyalty and satisfaction.
Beyond metrics, ORPCA fosters an environment where members feel supported and valued. Whether welcoming new drivers, mentoring first-time tour participants, or supporting members through life transitions, the club functions as a community—not just an organization. ORPCA has made deliberate efforts to welcome younger members and recruit them into leadership roles, ensuring continuity and future vitality.
- Community Activity – Extending the Circle
In 2025, ORPCA established a Community Outreach Committee with a $6,000 founding budget. Key initiatives:
- Equipment donations to Portland Community College Auto Tech Program
- Support for Toys for Tots and the Marine’s Ball
- Participation in a member’s Alzheimer’s Walk for a Cure
- Assistance rebuilding a wildfire-damaged community center in Detroit, Oregon
These activities reflect ORPCA’s belief that community engagement is an extension of member care. By supporting education, service members, health initiatives, and disaster recovery, ORPCA reinforces the values that bind its membership together and enhances PCA’s reputation in the broader community.
- Multi-Region Participation – Building Bridges
ORPCA initiated and organized a long-envisioned collaboration with Big Island Region PCA in 2025. Six ORPCA members traveled to Hawaii and joined BIHPCA for a Saturday drive and dinner. Though modest in size, this collaboration exemplified ORPCA’s creativity and commitment to relationship-building across Regions, sharing knowledge, culture, and enthusiasm beyond geographic boundaries. It created a template for future exchanges and demonstrated how even a small group can deepen ties within PCA.
Members of PNWR, Cascade and High Desert regions often attend our events. While not tagged as multi-region events, participation by members of neighboring clubs is an indicator of multi-region collaboration and mutual recognition. ORPCA’s website and weekly emails often share events hosted by our neighbors such as DE, cars & coffees and tech events, further weaving together the PCA community.
- Newsletter and Website Effectiveness – Infrastructure that Connects
ORPCA’s website is the operational hub—updated weekly with new events, registration links, classifieds, and the Anzeiger newsletter. Weekly emails and social media drive traffic to the site, where members can view and register for events months in advance. Upcoming events are announced at all gatherings, reinforcing awareness and accessibility. The Club’s Instagram and TikTok feeds remained valuable tools in 2025, with new members and advertisers discovering ORPCA through its online presence.
Members consistently praise ORPCA communications. The integrated approach—digital, in-person, and social—ensures members remain informed and engaged.
