Summary:

Start at the north end of the Hood River Bridge, climb up to the plateau above the Columbia River and wind your way to Richland for 2 nights at the Lodge at Columbia Point. The second day leads on back roads through the Palouse to the Weinhard Cafe in Dayton for Lunch, then to Walla Walla and then back to the hotel for dinner.
