The 2019 NW Passage event is now full.
The ORPCA Northwest Passage is changing it up this year with a five-day four-night tour! We will be featuring new roads never ventured on by the tour as well as familiar roads from past tours that we all have come to enjoy. This year’s tour explores the roads of the high plains of central Oregon, the beautiful Palouse and roads of northern Washington. From beautiful rivers and mountains, to rolling hills, this year’s Northwest Passage Tour will be a great drive as well as a feast for the eyes.
The pre-tour kick-off reception is Tuesday evening, June 11. The driving part of the tour starts on Wednesday, June 12 and continues through Sunday, June 16, 2019. We have added special events and an extra day to the driving tour in 2019 to enhance the fun for both the driver and navigator. Our final destination will be the beautiful Sun Mountain Lodge in Winthrop, Washington. We will be offering an optional Sunday night for those who wish to enjoy the lodge a little longer.
The cost to join the event is $725 per car. You are responsible for hotels and food costs. Because of the size of the dining and lodging venues, we are limiting the number of cars on this year’s tour to 50.View event details »

Nestled among the foothills above the Columbia River in Southwestern Washington, the Maryhill Museum of Art has a little-known secret on it’s property: the private Maryhill Loops Road. This road was the first macadam asphalt-paved road in the Pacific Northwest. The Maryhill Loops Road was an experimental road built by Good Roads promoter Sam Hill (what in the Sam Hill?). Laid in 1911 as the first asphalt road in the state, it achieved low grades with horseshoe curves.
In 2.8 paved miles the road ascends 850 feet via a series of 25 turns, 8 of which are hairpins. Generally the road is only open to pedestrians and bicyclists but on Saturday, September 7th, the Oregon PCA and High Desert PCA has private use of this road for a tour. This is a fun driving day not to be missed!
Cost is $85 per session (includes lunch). There are 2 sessions offered (with 3-4 runs); one in the morning and one in the afternoon. When you are not driving, you will have to work. We need spotters, starters, road cleaners and other various roles. It is a full day of fun with 1/2 the day driving and 1/2 working. You must attend all day 8am - 5pm, so please plan accordingly. We are sharing this event with the High Desert Region of PCA. ORPCA will have room for 25 of the 40 sessions offered. If you want to register for more than 1 session, you will need to do this independently of each other.
We also are offering an Italian Buffet celebratory dinner on Saturday night at the Best Western PLUS Hood River Inn. Cost is $48/person including tip.
Registration will open on June 6.
We have a room block for Friday and Saturday evenings in Hood River at the Best Western PLUS Hood River Inn. There are 10 rooms blocked: (5) Riverview 2 Queen, (3) Riverview King and (2) Riverview Queen. This block will expire on August 6. Call the hotel at (541) 386-8924 and ask for the PDX Porsche Club block. Rooms range from $194 - $211/night. Address for the hotel is: 1108 East Marina Way, Hood River.
There is also a block of 10 rooms in The Dalles at the Fairfield Inn. Call the hotel at (541) 769-0753 and ask for the Porsche Club Group. Rooms are $165/night. Cut off is August 8 for this block.
