Arrive and Drive – Saturday, June 8: Picnic Lunch Opportunity

June 8 @ 8:45 am - 2:00 pm

The 2019 Arrive and Drives continue on Saturday, June 8 with a picnic lunch opportunity!

To attend, bring your favorite Porsche (with plenty of fuel), a picnic lunch and ideally, a navigator.  The drive starts at Fred Meyer, 30020 SW Boones Ferry Rd, Wilsonville, OR 97070. (I-5 Exit #283, go west on Wilsonville Rd. turn South on SW Boones Ferry Rd.).   Please arrive no later than 8:45am (arrive earlier and have breakfast at Biscuits Café!).  Drivers' meeting takes place around 9:00am. With an average of 40 to 50 cars, we will break into smaller groups rather than doing one long convoy. The first group of cars will depart at around 9:15am.

We are in need of drivers to lead the groups. Please contact Eric at tours@oregonpca.org if you want to help.

This is a casual drive through the beautiful Williamette Valley, past vineyards, orchards, cattle ranches and farms. The drive starts at the north end of the Wilsonville Fred Meyer parking lot, just west of the Fred Meyer Starbucks.  The drive ends at Marys Peak.

Lunch options include:
1. Bring a picnic lunch from home
2. Stop in at Fred Meyer and pick up lunch at the start of the drive (The Fred Meyer Deli is behind the Starbucks - order the night before to avoid a long line)
3. Find a restaurant in Philomath or Corvallis after leaving Marys Peak (we will hand out a list of options at the start)

Marys Peak is southwest of Corvallis. It is the highest peak in the Oregon Coast Range at 4095 ft. The drive to get to Marys Peak will take us through some of Oregon’s smallest towns such as Pedee and Kings Valley with nice smooth roads and a few twisties. Once we enter the Siuslaw National Forest, we will be traveling on a five (5) mile wonderful twisty, paved road up to the Marys Peak parking lot. On a clear day the view of 5 mountain peaks is spectacular.  A half-mile hike, with 300+ft of elevation gain, will take you from the parking lot to more views at the top of Marys Peak. Please check the Marys Peak website here: Marys Peak

A $5 parking pass is required to park, but other passes are acceptable. Check the following URL to see if your pass qualifies: Passes at Marys Peak.

THIS IS A NO FEE EVENT

Club contact: Eric at tours@oregonpca.org

Drivers and passengers will be asked to sign the Release and Waiver of Liability form that will be available at the event. For parent(s) who bring a minor/or minors (younger than 18 years old) in the vehicle with you, a different waiver is required. This form requires the signature of a parent or guardian at the event. If you bring a minor, please review the Waiver Form for Minors as Observers here: Minor Waiver Form - Observers.

NW Passage 2019 – FULL

June 12 - June 16

The 2019 NW Passage event is now full.

The ORPCA Northwest Passage is changing it up this year with a five-day four-night tour! We will be featuring new roads never ventured on by the tour as well as familiar roads from past tours that we all have come to enjoy. This year’s tour explores the roads of the high plains of central Oregon, the beautiful Palouse and roads of northern Washington. From beautiful rivers and mountains, to rolling hills, this year’s Northwest Passage Tour will be a great drive as well as a feast for the eyes.

The pre-tour kick-off reception is Tuesday evening, June 11. The driving part of the tour starts on Wednesday, June 12 and continues through Sunday, June 16, 2019. We have added special events and an extra day to the driving tour in 2019 to enhance the fun for both the driver and navigator. Our final destination will be the beautiful Sun Mountain Lodge in Winthrop, Washington. We will be offering an optional Sunday night for those who wish to enjoy the lodge a little longer.

The cost to join the event is $725 per car. You are responsible for hotels and food costs. Because of the size of the dining and lodging venues, we are limiting the number of cars on this year’s tour to 50.

July 6 @ 8:45 am - 12:00 pm

The 2019 Arrive and Drives continue on Saturday, July 6, and then every second Saturday of each month until October (it's the first Saturday this month because of the Rose Cup/Pirelli World Challenge the following weekend and there is not one in August because of the Summer Picnic).

Enjoy some of the best driving roads in the five-county area. Each drive is roughly 60 to 100 miles in length and finishes in under three hours (unless otherwise noted). You have an option to join the group for lunch. These are a great way to kick off the weekend and a fun way for new members to get acquainted with ORPCA.

The Waiver Form for Minors as Observers may be signed by the parents/guardians away from the actual event site and presented to an ORPCA official at the event, however the participant MUST sign it in front of an event official.  Go to: Minor Waiver Form - Observers and print this out in color as there are highlights in red.
