Arrive and Drive – June 10

June 10 @ 8:45 am - 2:00 pm

2017 Arrive and Drive continues on Saturday, June 10. Remember - there is not an Arrive and Drive in July because of the Summer Picnic. Enjoy some of the best driving roads in the five county area. Each drive is roughly 60 to 100 miles in length and finishing in under three hours. It is a great way to kick off the weekend and a fun way for new members to get acquainted with ORPCA.

To attend, bring your favorite Porsche (with plenty of fuel) and ideally, a navigator, to our start location at Miller’s Homestead at 17933 SW McEwan Ave, Tigard 97224 no later than 8:45am. Driver’s meeting takes place at 9:00am, but many arrive early at 8:00am for a no-host breakfast. With an average of 40 to 50 cars, we often try to break into smaller groups rather than doing one long convoy. The first group of cars will depart at around 9:15am.

THIS IS A NO FEE EVENT

Club contact: Larry Hannan vicepresident@oregonpca.org 503-504-0806

NOTES: Important information about liability waivers
Please note that the Porsche Club of America has an insurance program that covers driving events (excluding racing), both for the club and the participants. In order for this coverage to be in effect, all participants, drivers and passengers, must sign the Release and Waiver of Liability form that will be available at each event. Please make sure you do this before leaving the start location.

The Rose Cup Races (Friday, July 7 - Sunday, July 9) continue to be the premier amateur road racing event in the Pacific Northwest, and in 2017 there will be an even broader racer base with members from the Oregon Region Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) and the Cascade Sports Car Club competing.
The feature race will include three car classifications, and there will be podium award celebrations for all three classes. There will be over 25 car fields, including the popular Spec Racer Fords, Spec Miatas, and of course the Vintage car class.
The Great American Stockcar Series (GASS) will return in 2017, providing high speed door-to-door racing in identically prepared cars. These NASCAR-like V8, ground-pounders built here in Portland will bring the excitement of stockcar racing to the weekend. For more information on the event go to: Rose Cup Races website

2017 Porsche Parade – Spokane

July 9 @ 8:00 am - July 15 @ 5:00 pm

The Porsche Club of America (PCA) will hold its annual event, the Porsche Parade, in Spokane, Washington. The dates are July 9 – 15, 2017. The Porsche Parade is PCA's annual, weeklong event when thousands of members descend upon a new location every year with their Porsches. The event includes Parade-organized driving tours — in addition to other events such as autocross, concours, time-speed-distance and gimmick rallies, banquets, regional-specific activities, and more. The 2017 Parade web site is open now. Go to: 2017 Porsche Parade.

The Oregon Porsche Club would like to get as many people as we can to join in this event. We have a small team, consisting of Joe Kelly, Steve Miller and Peg Ryan. We are planning a fun drive on Saturday, June 8 to Richland, WA. On Sunday we will drive directly to Spokane.

Registration is open. The Spokane Parade Registration Guide is available on the Parade Website with all the event and banquet details. Go to: 2017 parade registration. The registrar indicated that there are still hotel rooms available and some events/banquets. There are always self-guided tours both driving and walking!

Please note that you do not need to use one of the parade hotels to participate. You can complete your registration for the event now without a hotel.

Our Porsche parade team is excited about this opportunity and we look forward to assisting as best we can. If you are considering going and want to be added to our email list – please email pegryan@frontier.com and I will add you. This will also help us get an idea of how many of us are interested.
