Autocross (also called “Solo”) is a timed competition in which drivers navigate one at a time through a defined course on a sealed surface. It is a form of motorsports that emphasizes safe competition and active participation.

This ORPCA Autocross year begins with the opportunity for you to hone your skills or just find out what all the excitement is about. Our Driver’s Skills Clinic (DSC) will be held on Saturday March 12, 2016. Our DSC includes an afternoon Test & Tune for students and instructors only.2016 north paddock south pit access 3-12

If you want to get a full weekend of autocrossing under your belt we will be hosting Autocross #1 on Sunday March 13, 2016.The only access for Autocross #1 will be at turn #8 at the west end of the track.

Drivers Skills Clinic Our first event, Saturday March 12, 2016 is our DSC. Our DSC features and includes slaloms, a pivot cones, and a few other aids to help develop your timing, line or car position, looking and planning further ahead, positioning your car with early and late turn-in as well as braking exercises to enhance your ability to be quick and in control.

We provide on-on-one support to guide and help you understand what is taking place between you and car. The event is open to drivers of all skill levels. Drivers will experience, in their own car, with our instructors, autocross techniques ranging from the very basic to more advanced. It is a great way to build new skills, gauge the limits of your car, or just get back in shape after a long winter.

There will be only 32 openings for our Drivers Skills Clinic which is very very limited. It will include the DSC and Test & Tune. Test & Tune is a great way to put your new skills to the test.

Pre-registration opens January 22, 2016 online and costs only $75.00 which includes the DSC, Test & Tune, and lunch.

Test & Tune will be held immediately following the DSC. It is open only to students and staff.

See Test & Tune below. Our Test & Tune will be held in the North Paddock (the center of the track).

Access will ONLY be available through the main gate and the South Paddock. The Cascade Car Club will be using the track. Their starter has control they will direct and assist you through a safe track crossing. Be prepared to wait. Arrive by 7:30 am and you should be able to proceed right through. Track crossings close at 8:00 am for the track events.

If you are expecting guests we request they park by and use the pedestrian bridge as access into the North Paddock. It will make their departure easier and not stop our Test & Tune Event.

Rocky Mountain High Way

July 27, 2016 - July 31, 2016

Rocky Mountain High Way

From the Alpine Mountain Region

Why Should I:

Come to Colorado: Enjoy the dry mountain air, wide open spaces, all in the company of your best Porsche friends.

Tour:Drive roads that were seemingly built for Porsches. Twisty, scenic, and all nearby our base of operations. See some of the sites in an area that has so much to see.

Gimmickhana: Your Porsche is all about precision – its construction, the cornering, and the whole driving experience. That’s what this event is all about, in a low speed, safe environment.
Golf: If you like golf, you have to play at altitude, where the ball flies further, against stunning mountain backdrops. Plus, how about playing an exclusive private club that even the locals never get to play?

These events and so much more await you at the Rocky Mountain High Way event.

2016 Driver's Skills Clinic 2 - PIR - South Paddock

August 20, 2016, 07:00 am

REGISTER VIA: EVO Driving School

CLUB CONTACT:

“Motorsport is the universal language spoken by many but only understood by a few.It comes in quite a few dialects whether in a straight line or glued to the apex of a hairpin turn, it’s a language of excitement, bravery, trust, repetition, and will. Those who understand stray from the world of normalcy because pricey is an understatement. Regardless, the friendships you keep and the knowledge you gain has more value than anything you can put in that race car money pit. It’s more to it than just cars, which brings us to autocross and its pl2015 ax fun run peter 11-1ace in all of this.

Is it motorsport? Is it even racing or is it just imitation? You’re just driving around cones for the entire day in a parking lot, not even a track. But you see that’s what sets it apart, what makes it unique, its own language. 60 seconds at most, that restraint becomes your incentive, less than a minute to repetitively excel at the limit but not exceed it, again and again. Precision becomes your best friend because if you murder that cone that’s 2 seconds you’ve unintentionally adopted. That one pylon can be the difference between first and last.

You get to beg your car to forget the restraining days of the week and enjoy the freedom to play.

When you command that car from behind the wheel you attain a heightened appreciation for the addiction of motorsport, a glimpse of what it has to offer, and a passion for what most won’t try to understand. Guess it’s their seconds lost…” (transcript by Kwesi Peters)

Are you beginning to understand what autocross is about? Can you start to feel the adrenalin rush? To help you even further, this Autocross season is bringing back one of the greatest Instructional programs ever. It is the Evolution Driving School. This Phase 1 Course will make you a better driver and like stated above give you greater command of your car. Don’t care how good you think you are, this is a great opportunity. It is not cheap but neither are a couple of R-compound tires. Our Driver’s Skills Clinic (DSC) will be held on Saturday August 20, 2016.

This is an all day program starting at 7:00 am. I strongly recommend you bring a notebook because I guarantee you will not remember all the advice and directions provided.

If you want to get a full weekend of autocrossing under your belt we will be hosting Autocross #7 on Sunday August 21, 2016.

Arrive and Drive - 5th Annual Sausage Run +

The Sausage Run plus links!

This is October so think “Oktoberfest!” – sausages, schnitzel, and beer….   Ja!

Lunch in Mt. Angel at the Glockenspiel New Eatery

 LOOKING FORWARD

We are always looking for new and innovative ways to provide club members enjoyable driving experiences in their Porsches. As we look forward to the 2016 Arrive & Drives we are planning to extend the October “Sausage Run” to include an overnight stay in Dufur, Oregon. That overnight will be for Saturday night (Oct 8) and for those that can stay an additional night, Sunday (Oct 9). Lodging will be at the historic Balch Hotel (check their website). The hotel only has 18 rooms so the A/D extension is limited to 18 cars, assuming one or two people per car. The plan is that all club members can enjoy participation in the October “Sausage Run”, and after lunch the 18 cars that have signed up for the overnight extension will depart for Dufur. The route to Dufur will be two-lane, paved, country/forest roads. Fun drives will be designed for Sunday that will allow those that cannot stay over on Sunday night to depart. Those that can stay Sunday night will be treated to more of Oregon’s scenic roads. The routes are being designed and planned for your driving enjoyment. More information will be provided in the upcoming months. If you are interested contact Joe Kelly (joekelly@earthlink.net or cell phone 562-587-3090, home 503-285-1658).

Our A&D will start @

Miller’s Homestead 17333 SW McEwan Ave. Tigard OR 97224  503.684.2831
( I-5 exit 290 head one blk east )

Please arrive no later than 8:45am.

Driver’s meeting takes place 9:00am, but many arrive early @ 8:00am for a no-host breakfast.

With large turnouts, we often try to break into smaller groups rather than doing one long convoy.

The first group will depart at around 9:15am.

This is a no fee event.  Club contact:
