2021 March SUV Group Drive – Three Ferries

Summary:

This is a fun drive starting in West Lynn and following the Willamette down to Buena Vista and crossing the river three times on three ferries. The tour has 4 legs and rest stops at the end of every leg. Last stop is in Keizer at the Bavarian Social Haus Restaurant.

Bring $5 and $1 bills to pay for the ferries. No credit cards accepted.

2020 September Midweek Drive through the Wine Country

Summary:

Drive on some of Washington and Yamhill counties scenic roads traveling on many a winding roads up and down hills and traversing through picturesque farmland and wine country. This is a “compact” drive, less than 70 miles in distance with start and finish locations less than a dozen miles apart, both in the metro area. We will start in Beaverton ending in Hillsboro.

2020 August Arrive and Drive to Mt. Hood

Summary:

This is a casual drive through the beautiful Mt. Hood National Forest. We will be following the Clackamas River for much of the drive with its beautiful whitewater viewed from your Porsche. Driving distance is about 100+ miles with a return to the start distance of less than 50 miles. 
The drive will start in Oregon City. Arrive early and have breakfast at Shari’s or a Latte at Starbucks. The drive will end on the east side of Mt. Hood at the White River Snow Park.  If you prefer a restaurant for lunch, Government Camp is available on the way back to Portland.  If you prefer a longer way home, Hood River is just north on OR-35 and has plenty of places to find your lunch. Bring your favorite camera for the wonderful photography opportunity (weather permitting, of course) with your Porsche in the foreground and beautiful Mt. Hood in the background.

2018 Nurburgring Tour

Summary:

Start in proximity to the Portland International Raceway, wind your way along the Columbia River to St. Johns, cross St Johns Bridge, climb the West Hills on Germantown Road and take a first break at Rock Creek PCC. Back to the West Hills and meander towards Norht Plains for a second stop at Jesse Mays County Park. A final loop through Mountaindale and then back on Hwy 26 to the Cornelius Pass Roadhouse for lunch

2019 August Midweek Drive to Astoria

Summary:

Start in the Parking Lot of Fred Meyer at Imbrie Road in Hillsboro. Take Hwy 26 to Timber Road and wind your way through forests and meadows to the Vernonia Lake City Park. After the rest stop, continue on Hwy 47 to Hwy 220 and reach Astoria from the south-east along the Youngs River to 101 and shortly after pull into the parking lot of the delicious Bridge Water Bistro.

2018 October Midweek Drive

Summary:

Start in the Parking Lot of the Lewis and Clark State Park in Troutdale. From there wind your way over the Bull Run Rd to Lolo Pass and Hwy 26, continue pass the Timberline Exit and turn on Hwy 35 towards Hood River. Take Forest Road 48 for about 10 miles, turn onto Forest Road 43 what leads you back to Hwy 26. From there head down to the Rendezvous Grill in Welches for lunch.

2018 Summer Picnic

Summary:

Start in the Parking Lot of 24 Hr Fitness on Scholls Ferry and find your way through meadows and vineyards, hills and valleys, twist and turns to Bald Peak State Park for a rest stop. From here we drive on back-roads through the wine country and finally reach the Stoller Family Winery on top of a hill overseeing vineyards and Mt. Hood on the horizon.

2018 Drive to Skamania Lodge

Summary:

Start in the Parking Lot of Shari Cafe on Whitaker Road. From there go on I5, cross the Columbia River, Take exit 9 towards Battle Ground and stop at Yale Park. From there follow the road along Yale Lake and Swift Reservoir to the McClellan Overlook. After a short stop continue down to the Columbia River, turn onto Hwy 14 towards Stevenson and take the exit up to Skamania Lodgee.
